About Us The CCCH was originally founded in January 1992 as the Canadian-Hungarian Business Club/Club D'Affaires Canado-Hongrois, dedicated to promoting closer ties between Canada and Hungary. The club decided to charter as the CCCH in the spring of 1993 with a mandate to provide a forum of knowledge and expertise, a business network, as well as a vehicle of social contact.
Chamber members include multi-national corporations, the majority of which are headquartered in Canada or Hungary; entrepreneurs from a wide variety of areas such as banking, real estate, brokering, law, commerce, trade, education, hospitality/tourism, heavy industry, construction, agriculture, consulting, the arts; as well as many individual members in various professions.
The CCCH hosts a variety of events every year, providing its members with an excellent opportunity to expand their business skills and contacts, and strengthen their company profiles within the Canadian and Hungarian business community.
The fourteen members of the CCCH board are a diverse group of business people with many years of international business experience, able to work closely with Canadian and Hungarian government officials and to represent business interests in Hungary and Canada. The majority speak at least two languages-some even five-such that business people may communicate with a Chamber representatives in English, French, Hungarian or German.
Membership is open to all reputable business people and private individuals who are willing to accept the CCCH constitution and mandate. Membership fees are multi-level and carry respective privileges.
The CCCH was established with the following mandates:
- To promote, study and protect by every possible means trading interests and relations between Canada and Hungary.
- To collect and disseminate statistical and other information relating to trade and commerce.
- To assist members and other legal or natural persons in their trading relations with Canada and Hungary and to facilitate by all lawful means commercial exchange between the two parties.
- To do all such other lawful things that are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above purposes and to the extension or maintenance of Canadian-Hungarian trade.
The Canadian Chamber of Commerce exists as a legal entity in Hungary registered as a not-for-profit organisation.
